Happy New Year from Sunny Bunnell!!
Hello everyone!!
It's been a crazy two weeks!! Christmas in the MTC was great. I LOVE my MTC district, they were my only family on Christmas so it was really fun to spend it with them. The MTC kept us busy all day with devotionals and activities so that was hectic, but fun. The general authority speaker was Elder Cook! He talked about the four "loves" of missionary work; your companion, the people, your mission pres and wife, and Jesus Christ. It was an amazing devotional and the best Christmas I could've had away from my family.
I was so sad to have to leave my district last week! I seriously love all of them so much and I know they are all gonna kill it in the field. Sister Buswell and I woke up at 3 am last Monday to go to Florida, which was brutal lol. We took the front runner with all the luggage for 11 missionaries to the airport, which was chaotic, but somehow it worked out haha. We got to Orlando around 8 that day. We met President and Sister Ashcraft at baggage claim and then the APs loaded up all our luggage and we had dinner at the chapel. We stayed at a hotel that night and woke up the next day expecting to have training for at least the first 3 hours of the day. When we got to the chapel President Ashcraft told us that we all had to quarantine with our new companion for our first week. We were all shocked. Apparently someone from one of the elder's MTC district had tested positive for covid the day we flew out, so they just wanted to be safe. So instead of getting trained, I had to quickly say goodbye to Sister Buswell (which sucked, I love her so much) and immediately meet my trainer Sister Adams and get to work! I love her so much. She just barely finished training, so she's only been out for 12 weeks and we are both figuring this out together haha.
I'm in the Palm Coast area over the Bunnell ward. It's been hard because I haven't met anyone yet since we've been quarantined, but I can't wait to start meeting all the people here. The only interaction I've had with anyone is our sweet friend Tom, a 70 year old man who is getting baptized in two weeks! We've had phone call lessons and he calls himself a "soldier of Christ" and he's homies with the Holy Ghost so that's cool haha. He tells me about the conversations they have together lol.
Even though it's been a slow start to my mission here so far, I've loved it. I've loved getting to know Sister Adams more and learning how to do Facebook work. I am so excited and happy to finally be here, I know it's exactly where the Lord needs me.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! I would invite you to remember that all things can be made new and perfect in Christ, which is a great way to start off the new year! 2 Corinthians 5:17 "17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
I love all of you and hope you have a great week!
