Gator Guts and Manatees
This week we talked to a lot of people who were once meeting with missionaries, but haven't been in a while. The neighborhoods here make me laugh haha. Florida yards are full of the cheesiest decorations you could think of. Garden gnomes wearing hula skirts, polar bears on roofs, and manatee mailboxes. GUYS, the mailboxes hahaha. I've seen some of the wildest mailboxes here. I need to start taking pictures of them and send them in my emails because they kill me lol.
We had a lesson with our friend Tom this week at a member's home. It went really well, but honestly, the highlight was dinner. They made us chili and set out an assortment of hot sauces followed by a disclaimer of how hot they each were. The hottest was the "gator guts". Tom, a sweet little old New Yorker, immediately reached for the gator guts and DUMPED it in his chili... like full on took off the cap and smacked the bottle. Sister Adams and I looked at each other trying not to laugh. Brother Gooden warned him that he only puts a drop of that stuff in his chili, but Tom ignored him and took a massive bite. He eyes went huge and he got teary eyed but he insisted on finishing the bowl LOL. Needless to say, he canceled our lesson the next day... RIP to Tom.
This week was full of lessons and finding and it was amazing. We played pickleball with some friends we were teaching which was way fun. We volunteered at the food pantry which was an amazing experience, and we had dinner with a ton of members. They FEED us here in Bunnell haha. I'm literally full 24/7.
It's been a crazy week, but so good! I know that God is mindful of His children! I feel His love for the people here in Bunnell and I know He wants us to be happy. I know it with all my heart or I wouldn't be here. I love you all and hope you have a great week!
